Fermented foods have been consumed by humans for thousands of years. They are made by the process of lacto-fermentation, which involves the use of beneficial bacteria to convert sugars and carbohydrates into lactic acid. This process not only preserves the food but also enhances its nutritional value.

In this class, participants get to sample a variety of fermented foods, learn how to safely ferment, and make and take home their creations to enjoy later.

During the class, participants are introduced to the basic principles of fermentation, including the role of bacteria and yeast in the process. They are also taught how to properly prepare and sterilize the materials they will be using, such as jars, utensils, and ingredients.

Indulge in an array of delectable treats while you learn! Charcuterie boards and refreshments, including coffee, will be provided during the workshop.
